Resources & Calls to Action

There is an overwhelming amount of news and information being thrown at us on a daily basis. We simplify it here for you with what the urgent Calls to Action are, we give you links to the resources to achieve them, and provide current news that can't be missed.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS & ICE ALERT RESOURCES

In the United States we are afforded the constitutional right to peacefully assemble and express our views. These rights extend to protesting, if confronted by ICE, during an arrest at protest, after your release and if you are detained by Federal Immigration Authorities. It is imperative that you are clear on your rights and best practicies for any of these situations. One of these given rights is our right to peacefully record and report ICE agents, police officers, and other authorities.

If you are in Oregon and spot ICE activity, use a whistle or honk your horn to warn people around of a sighting, and then immediately alert the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC) hotline and they have rapid response teams all over the State who will try to get to that location. If you are at the scene where someone is being taken, stay safe and try to get as much info as you can from the person being detained (name, dob, spouse name)--check to see if they need you to contact an Eco lawyer for them.

Numbers to have in your phone at all times!
Asegúrate de tener estos 2 números de teléfono guardados en tu teléfono:

  1. PIRC hotline / línea directa: 1-888-622-1510   (reporting ICE sightings/activity)

  2. ECO lawyers / abogados: 1-888-274-7292    (if someone is being detained & needs a lawyer)

MIGRA WHISTLE RESOURCES:

We want to thank the creators of the zines Pilsen Arts Community House in Chicago for designing the zines and making them accessible to anyone. We also want to thank PIRC & Migra Whistle Coalition in Portland, Oregon for spreading the word about the whistles, zines and how to put it all together. Things are constantly evolving/updating, currently we are using the WashCoForAll Bilingual Zine.
